A Father leading his family in scripture devotions

Many parents feel pressure to lead “perfect” family devotions—and that pressure often leads to doing nothing at all. The truth is, faith formation happens best through simple, consistent practices.

You don’t need an hour. You don’t need special training. You need about 10 minutes.

A Simple 10-Minute Structure

1. Scripture (3 minutes) Read a short Bible passage—just a few verses is enough.

2. Conversation (4 minutes) Ask one simple question:

  • What stands out to you?

  • What does this tell us about God?

  • How does this connect to our lives?

3. Prayer (3 minutes)Invite everyone to share one prayer request, then pray together.

That’s it.

Why This Works

  • It’s short enough to be sustainable

  • It invites participation

  • It keeps Scripture at the center

  • It removes pressure and guilt

Faith grows through repetition, not perfection.

“These words… shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children.” (Deuteronomy 6:6–7)
